TTG: Which markets were healthy last year, and which markets are fundamental to you this year?
The healthiest markets for Kuwait are Qatar, the KSA and the UAE. They are fundamental for our corporate business.
Kuwait is a main market in the region for business. The tourism industry in Kuwait, just like Qatar, the KSA and the UAE, has been quite healthy thanks to the fundamental support provided to it by corporate businesses, as plenty of meetings are held in our 18 meeting rooms and networking occurs in our executive lounge.
TTG: With the tourism industry becoming ever-more eco conscious, what is the property doing to become ‘greener’ and reduce its carbon footprint?
Symphony Style Kuwait, A Radisson Collection Hotel is partaking in the Green Key initiative with the help of the hotel staff and the leadership of the general manager, Peter Schuler. The staff and the general manager have both expressed and demonstrated their eagerness to protect the environment and preserve natural resources through the hotel’s adoption of environmentally friendly and sustainable methods of operation, that aim to save the earth’s resources in addition to raising awareness among guests.
Some of the projects initiated include Espresso Capsule recycling, a yearly beach cleanup and plastic collection for recycling, in addition to a partnership with Omniya company. Within the first month of the Nespresso recycling initiative, we collected used capsules and sent them to be recycled. The partnership with the leading company, Omniya, has been crucial in the initiative of recycling plastic.
Furthermore, Symphony Style Kuwait, A Radisson Collection Hotel, ensures all meetings are held in a carbon-free environment through its sustainability project with First Climate, one of the world’s largest carbon offset organisations. Beyond a carbon free environment, we have also organised initiatives where sprout pencil stubs can be planted as a wish of a fruitful green meeting for your corporate gathering.
