Exclusively speaking to Natalie Hami, general manager, Mövenpick Hotel Jumeirah Beach, Philip Jones sheds light on special summer promotions, strategies and the Dubai-based property’s updates.
TTG: What summer promotions can guests and visitors look forward to?
This summer Mövenpick Hotel Jumeirah Beach has a number of offerings to suit a variety of needs, whether it is our ‘Summer Savings’ promotion which allows guests to save up to 30 per cent off their summer holiday, or our ‘Stay and Save’ promotion which offers guests variable discounts based on the length of stay.
TTG: What strategies have you implemented this year to attract visitors to the property?
We have long recognised that JBR is a family destination. Hence to further our family-friendly offerings, we have converted many of our superior rooms to include full size sofa-beds, which can now comfortably accommodate two adults and two children in our lead in category rooms. Furthermore we have participated in the Emirates Holidays Dubai Summer Surprises campaign whereby children under the age of 12 can share the room with the parents without additional charge.
TTG: How will you be dealing with the fierce completion within Dubai’s hospitality landscape?
While there is no doubt that there are a lot of new hotels opening in Dubai, it is also important to remember that there are many other factors which will ensure that all hotels can continue to see healthy occupancies, such as the opening of the Dubai Parks and Resorts, City Walk, Box Park, and the upcoming Dubai Eye, to name just a few; all of which will help to attract more and more visitors to this wonderful destination.
At the end of the day, our property will continue to leverage our favourable location, our award-winning restaurants and bars as well as the warm and friendly service of our employees to ensure our ongoing success in this growing market.
TTG: Tell us about the feeder markets that you’re looking to attract.
So far this year we have seen very positive growth from the GCC market and as a result, our sales team and myself, have conducted sales missions to these markets to continue to build on the success we have already seen.
TTG: Finally, what’s new in the world of Mövenpick Hotel Jumeirah Beach?
We are very proud to welcome our new executive chef, Rajiv Singh, to our property. Chef Singh brings with him a wealth of over 15 years of culinary experience and was most recently the executive chef at the Mövenpick Hotel and Apartments Bur Dubai.
Since his arrival Chef Singh has launched a wonderful new menu at the New York Soul restaurant, reflecting the flavours of three well-known Manhattan districts; Little Italy, the Meatpacking district and the Upper East Side. Furthermore building on the successful menu launch, Chef Singh plans to introduce a new concept which will feature an all-inclusive food and beverage option during weekends at Soul. Stay tuned for more exciting details coming up soon.
